Employees Raise $40,000 for PCHC Employee Heating Assistance Program
Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC) is pleased to announce that about $40,000 has been raised through a staff initiative to support employees in need of heating assistance. About 323 employees or half of all PCHC employees are contributing to the fund at a rate of $1,366.55 in donations bi-weekly. 100% of the contributions will support dozens of PCHC employees having difficulty with heating costs this winter and will be used for the purchase of heating fuel or firewood.
The Heating Assistance Program is just one example of PCHC employees taking care of their own and demonstrating the same caring and generosity they provide their patients every day. Through its Affordable Care Program, PCHC writes off over $2 million a year in patient fees to ensure access for all.
