Allergy
Allergy Services are provided in our Specialists Department, by Paul Shapero, MD. Dr. Shapero specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and other allergy-related diseases and is trained to identify the factors that trigger asthma or allergy symptoms. Services and treatment include:
- Allergy testing
- Prevention education
- Medication prescriptions
- Immunotherapy (Allergy Shots)
Consult your primary care provider about seeing an allergist should you have asthma or allergy symptoms that are interfering with your ability to carry out day-to-day activities, if you experience seasonal allergies for several months of the year, if over the counter medications do not improve your symptoms or cause unacceptable side-effects, or if you have chronic conditions such as recurrent sinus infections, nasal congestion or difficulty breathing.
Dr. Shapero sees both PCHC patients and non-PCHC patients by referral. This service is limitied to patients with MaineCare or Affordable Care Plan.
